The Little Shredders in Australia

Despite having short winters and a small alpine region, snowboarding is one of the most popular participation sports in Australia. The sport attracts over 1.2 million people in Australia every year. Building off of snowboarding’s popularity, the The Little Shredders initiative was born. The Little Shredder’s initiative offers kids from all over the country a chance to experience snowboarding before they ever set foot on snow.

Kids Snowboarding goes to the Beach

The fun of kids snowboarding doesn’t have to stop just because the snow is gone. At Burton, we’re always finding creative ways to keep the excitement of snowboarding going year round. Smugglers’ Notch Brings Snowboarding to Kids in the City

Years ago, Smugglers’ Notch Resort and Burton Riglet snowboarding teamed up to try the first, snow-free Riglet Park event in Central Park, NYC. While the crew faced many challenges, the event was a success. Thanks to what we’ve learned, Riglet Park events now take place all over the world in major cities, malls and schools. The Smugglers’ Notch Riglet event in NYC has expanded through experimentation and play. Incorporating new features, props, and even squirt “guns,” kids have never had so much fun learning to snowboard in the summertime.
