Burton has always been dedicated to creating products, programs, and partnerships that push the sport of snowboarding forward and grow our community of riders. As the result of years of hard work, we’re thrilled to announce that Burton has received the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) Growth and Leadership Award. This award, in conjunction with our innovative collaboration with the Quebec Ski Areas Association (ASSQ) and Les Sommet Resorts, has set the standard for the industry and created a “Model for Growth”.
Over the last five years, Jeff Boliba of our Global Resorts Team has partnered with ASSQ to integrate snowboarding into their youth programs. Programs like MySnow Experience, the Burton Snowboard Tour and Inski/InSurf at School are changing the way the industry looks at conversion and beginner programs. In the last two seasons alone over 100,000 kids were introduced to snow sports and of that over 25,000 tried snowboarding.
To highlight the success of this partnership and showcase what the future of the industry can look like when resorts, associations, and companies like Burton collaborate to grow participation, we spent three days last winter with ASSQ.
From schools to city activations to resorts, we brought the mountains to the people and watched as the sport of snowboarding grew one child, and one family at a time.
